Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This page explains what information is collected when you visit skiwithalex.ski or book a ski lesson, why it's collected, and how you can contact us about it.
Who runs this site
This website is operated by Alex Barzanov, a ski instructor based in Borovets, Bulgaria, who is responsible for the personal data described on this page. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can reach out at ski.with.alex@pm.me.
Hosting
This site is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver the page to you and protect the site against abuse.
Booking a lesson (Setmore)
Lesson bookings are handled through Setmore, a third-party scheduling service. When you book a lesson, Setmore collects the information you provide - typically your name, email address, and phone number - in order to confirm and manage your booking. Setmore processes this data on our behalf and under its own privacy policy.
The Setmore booking button is loaded each time the page opens, so Setmore may receive technical data such as your IP address even if you don't make a booking.
We also ask for the age of each person taking part in the lesson, including children. This is used solely to plan a lesson that's appropriate and safe for that age group - teaching methods, pace, and group composition differ significantly between young children and adults. If you're booking on behalf of a child, this information is provided by you as the parent or guardian at the time of booking.
Booking data is kept in Setmore for as long as it is needed to arrange future lessons with you and to apply the no-show policy described on the main page. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time.
Prices and availability (Google Sheets)
Prices, availability and some other details on the site are loaded from a Google Sheet each time the page opens, so they are always up to date. To do this, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive technical data such as your IP address. No other information about you is sent.
Website analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall visitor traffic. This service does not use cookies, does not store any personal data on your device, and does not build individual visitor profiles - it only reports aggregated, anonymous statistics such as page views and general visitor location by country.
Instagram content and cookies
The site itself does not use cookies. The Instagram section shows recent posts using a third-party widget provided by SociableKit, which, together with Instagram's parent company Meta, may set cookies or collect data according to their own privacy policies.
This widget is only loaded if you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner or "Accept & load" in the Instagram section. If you decline, nothing from SociableKit or Instagram is loaded, and you can still view the posts directly at instagram.com/alex.barzanov.
Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so you aren't asked again on every visit. It contains no personal data and never leaves your device. You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the main page.
Transfers outside the EU
Setmore, Google and Cloudflare are based in the United States, so some of the data described on this page may be processed outside the European Union. These transfers take place under the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Legal basis
Booking data is used to arrange and deliver the lesson you asked for (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Technical data such as your IP address is processed on the basis of a legitimate interest in running the site securely and keeping prices and availability up to date (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The Instagram section is only loaded with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Contact links
Links to WhatsApp, Viber, and Telegram on this site simply open those apps. No information is collected by this website itself through these links - any data shared happens directly within those apps, under their own respective privacy policies.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data held about you, as well as to object to or restrict its processing. You can also ask to receive the data you provided in a common, machine-readable format such as a CSV file (data portability). Where processing is based on your consent, as with the Instagram section, you can withdraw it at any time through "Cookie settings"; this does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it. To exercise any of these rights, including for booking data held in Setmore, contact us at the email above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (cpdp.bg).
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the site or the services it uses. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
